VCON's audio conferencing bridge to include access to WebEx Meeting Center Service
(February 24, 2004) Austin, Texas VCON (Nouveau Marché No. 022021), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, recently signed an agreement with WebEx, the leading provider of web communication services, to incorporate access to WebEx services as an integral part of VCONs audio conferencing bridge. By integrating access to the WebEx MediaTone Network, customers will be able to seamlessly launch a WebEx meeting as a natural extension of their audio conference. Our channels partners and their customers are requesting this blend of our leading video/audio conferencing products with the leader in web communication services WebEx, said Gordon Daugherty, chief marketing officer, VCON. Customers will now be able to combine the power and flexibility of VCONs audio bridge with the security and performance of our global communications network. VCON will offer a 4-port WebEx Meeting Center service as an optional module of the VCON IGC 2000 audio conferencing bridge. This new combination enables users to add advanced web conferencing to VCON IGC 2000s unique and personal "In-call control" during an audio conference. The WebEx Meeting Center service supports feature-rich browser-based multimedia communications for remote presentations, new product demonstrations, document collaboration, and application and desktop sharing.
