Upgraded MXM, VCB 2000, and Conference Moderator now shipping
(March 22, 2004) Austin, Texas - VCON (Nouveau Marché ISIN Code: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announced that version 4.1 of the The Media Xchange Manager® (MXM) and VCB 2000, as well as version 1.1 of the VCON Conference Moderator are now shipping and available for download from the VCON website at http://www.emblaze-vcon.com/support/downloads.shtml. These enhancements put more management and control in the hands of the network administrator, while bringing more in the way of rich media conferencing to the user, said Gordon Daugherty, CMO, VCON. VCONs One Click Away From Being There promise is more than just a marketing slogan it is here today. VCONs award-winning MXM has gained some key features and functionality with the upgrade. New features include support for VCONs new HD3000 and HD5000 group conferencing systems. Both products can now be remotely managed, supported and upgraded by the MXM. They also gain video PBX functionality like call transfer, call forward and hunting groups when registered to the MXM. In addition, the MXM now has support for VCONs new HD DualStreamTM for dual stream video, as well as H.264 support for devices registered to the MXM that include the H.264 video algorithm. A new billing report with cost factors has been added to the list of reports that are available to the administrator from the MXM. H.235 encryption support has also been added along with support for Windows 2003 Server. VCONs multipoint conferencing and streaming server, the VCB 2000, has also gained important functionality with the upgrade to version 4.1. Data rate support has been increased to 4Mbps, with no limit to the number of conference participants joining at that speed. Additionally, support for VCONs HD DualStream and Tandbergs DuoVideo has been added, allowing endpoints that support either algorithm to participate in dual stream video conferences where video and data are simultaneously transmitted and displayed. Lastly, the VCB 2000 now supports 4CIF and XGA resolutions, allowing for clearer video and data transmission. VCONs newest addition to its video network family, the VCON Conference Moderator, has also received several new features. With version 1.1, the conference administrator now has chair control with the ability to more tightly manage voice-activated multipoint conferences. Additionally, the Conference Moderator now has an optional module, which gives users access to web-based data conferencing. The data conferencing module allows users to participate in web-based data conferencing via VCONs WebShare or seamlessly launch a WebEx data conference right from their conference moderation panel. The new versions of VCONs MXM, VCB 2000, and Conference Moderator are available at no charge for users who are currently at version 4.0 of the MXM/VCB and 1.0 of the Conference Moderator. The data conferencing option is priced starting at $2,000 and depends on the size of the VCB 2000 or the MXM. |
