VCON Adds WebEx® Data Conferencing Feature to IGC 2000 Audio Conferencing Bridge

IGC 2000 now includes the ability to add data conferencing to any audio conference with the single click of a button via WebEx or VCON’s WebShare

(May 17, 2004) Austin, Texas – VCON (Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announced the upcoming release of version 6.5 of their Interactive Group Communication System (IGC 2000) audio conferencing bridge. This upgrade allows IGC 2000 users to add data conferencing to any audio conference using VCON’s WebShare application or their hosted WebEx Meeting Center service.

The IGC 2000 is the first interactive audio conferencing system that truly simulates a single-room environment where all participants are present. The new release will feature the ability for a user to add data to their audio conference with the single click of a button. Users have two options for adding data. First, they can use VCON’s WebShare data conferencing, which gives them the ability to share their desktop or share an application with the other conference participants. In addition, users who prefer to use their hosted WebEx data conferencing service can easily add WebEx data conferencing to their IGC audio conference without the need for a unique WebEx account login or conference ID.

“Adding data conferencing to our IGC 2000 is another example of how VCON’s customers are one click away from the conferencing functionality they need,” said Gordon Daugherty, chief marketing officer, VCON. “Additionally, having WebEx as one of the conferencing options is a benefit to many of our users who prefer WebEx’s hosted service offering, and we are excited about the continuing results of our partnership with the leader in Web communication services.”

Additional features added to IGC 2000 version 6.5 include multiple language options (French, German, Spanish and UK English), LDAP directory services, and port reservation. This release is expected to ship during the second quarter of 2004 and is a free upgrade to any current IGC 2000 customer.

VCON will be sponsoring and delivering an exclusive webinar on May 18th to discuss the IGC 2000’s integration of WebEx functionality. The webinar will begin at 10:00am PST. To register to attend this webinar, email Dan Hanrahan at danhcvon.com.
