VCON’s SecureConnect 2.0 provides enhanced security and functionality

(June 1, 2004) Austin, Texas – VCON (Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announces that SecureConnect, VCON’s firewall/NAT traversal solution, has been upgraded to version 2.0.

The new version of SecureConnect includes HD DualStream™ support, which allows users to simultaneously send video and data streams to users outside of their protected network. Bandwidth limits were added to the configurable QoS feature set, allowing the administrator to set bandwidth limits specifically for SecureConnect traffic. Additionally, SecureConnect now has one-to-many distribution of proxy pairs, which can save money in most deployments by reducing the number of physical servers needed. One of the most significant new features of version 2.0 is intelligent broadcast distribution, which allows IP multicast streams to be sent outside of the protected network, converted to a unicast stream, then converted back into a multicast stream for distribution at a remote office.

Version 2.0 of SecureConnect will be available in the second quarter of 2004. For current SecureConnect users, the upgrade will be downloadable from the VCON website.
