Company's expanded line of HD rich media conferencing solutions on display at Booth #5045
(June 2, 2004) Austin, Texas VCON (Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announced that it will showcase its newly expanded line of High-Definition (HD) rich media conferencing solutions, which are specifically designed for the integrators market as well as for set-top and multimedia conferencing environments, at InfoComm (Booth #5045) June 9-11, 2004. VCON continues to demonstrate its rapid expansion in the area of rich media conferencing by introducing two new additions to the HD family and upgrading two other VCON products. The newest additions to VCONs HD line include vPoint HD, the first software client in the industry to support the new H.264 video standard, and the HD2000, a high-definition videoconferencing codec for integrators. The company will also demonstrate its upgraded line of advanced audio conferencing and server solutions, including the IGC 2000, a unique audio conferencing bridge that truly simulates a single-room environment where all participants are present, and SecureConnect, VCONs advanced solution for firewall/NAT traversal and encryption. As the worlds largest trade show for professional audiovisual communication systems, InfoComm provides a perfect setting to demonstrate the impressive video quality of our new High-Definition group systems, said Gordon Daugherty, chief marketing officer, VCON. Were confident that attendees will be impressed with our newest HD products and will realize why VCON continues to lead with its complete line of audio and videoconferencing solutions. vPoint HD is the first software client in the industry to support the new H.264 video standard. Supporting H.264 means that vPoint HD will provide twice the quality at the same bandwidth. This guarantees clearer, sharper video for desktop users who may have limited bandwidth for videoconferencing. vPoint HD not only encompasses high quality audio and video, but also includes features and functionality that move it beyond a standard desktop videoconferencing application. One example is vMail, which allows users to send video email or record videoconferences. vMail is easy to use and is perfect for recording training, conducting interviews, or archiving important information, as well as sending video emails to anyone in a users email address book. VCONs HD2000 is a 1U rack-mount codec with an advanced set of serial- and IP-based APIs. The HD2000 combines a videoconferencing engine with streaming and multipoint conferencing capabilities, and has data rates up to 4Mbps with frame rates up to 60 fields per second. The HD2000s embedded MCU (multipoint control unit) can connect up to four sites using video and audio transcoding as well as speed matching. Using VCONs HD DualStreamTM technology, participants can share data and video simultaneously during a multipoint conference, as well as view data and video sent by a remote site on a single monitor. The HD2000 incorporates multiple ways of streaming live videoconferences over corporate networks and the Internet, during a point-to-point or multipoint conference. Additionally, users can participate in high-bandwidth videoconferences while streaming those conferences over the Internet at a lower, more appropriate bandwidth. These streaming capabilities can be accessed via the HD2000 web manager, allowing the network administrator to begin and end streaming. VCONs The Media Xchange Manager® (MXM) will be the gatekeeper and management system controlling the network in their InfoComm booth, and vPoint HD will be the highlighted desktop conferencing client. VCON is also a Gold sponsor of InfoComm 04s Ultimate Classroom/Boardroom Giveaway (UCBG) promotion, which will feature an exhibitor treasure hunt, a $100,000 AV system prize drawing, and an HD-series demo area within the UCBG showroom networked with VCONs booth.
