Simtrol’s ONGOER software provides VCON HD5000 users with a customized interface for controlling a variety of external devices without having to add separate hardware control systems and touch panels. Additionally, Simtrol’s OnGuard software will enable hyperlink access to in-depth device diagnostics, interactive help desk functionality and remote monitoring capabilities for peripheral devices. “Having an advanced peripheral control system for the HD5000 demonstrates the system’s versatility,” said Gordon Daugherty, chief marketing officer, VCON. “Simtrol has integrated its ONGOER and OnGuard software with the HD5000 in such a way that operation is seamless and intuitive for the user.” ONGOER is a PC-based control system software running on a Windows 2000 or XP Pro platform. PCI and AGP cards and Ethernet or USB interfaces can be utilized to create connectivity to external equipment, including VCRs, DVD players, document cameras, and AV switchers. Off-the-shelf PC hardware is leveraged to create high-quality, cost-effective solutions. OnGuard monitors all devices at ONGOER-enabled endpoints and alerts the help desk or Network Operations Center (NOC) when problems arise, in real time. OnGuard AV asset management software proactively scans the network of control systems and instantly alerts the technical support team of device failures.
