New member in VCON's successful HD3000 family focused on the needs of large organizations
January 26, 2005 (Austin, TX) VCON (Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, introduces the HD3000 LT, a lower-cost version of the HD3000 that is specifically designed to increase return on assets and improve communications for large corporations with existing videoconferencing networks. The new HD3000 LTs feature-set has been defined to meet the demands of large organizations seeking an affordable set-top box with high-quality video and audio, and full laptop-based data sharing capabilities. The LT model allows enterprises to leverage the already existing investment they have made in multipoint conferencing, streaming, and recording servers. The low price and ease of implementation will allow organizations to deploy videoconferencing in a high number of meeting rooms, thereby enjoying the efficiency and shortened decision processes resulting from the use of videoconferencing at all levels of the organization. One of VCONs strengths is our ability to quickly react to customers demands, said Andreas Wienold, vice president, global sales and marketing, VCON. We have seen the need for a low cost, slimmed down version of our HD3000 and rapidly rolled out this new model. Together with VCON's highly innovative infrastructure products, the HD3000 LT will provide a unique and very affordable solution for the IP-based video networks of our key enterprise, government and education sector customers. The HD3000 LT includes most of the high-end features of the HD3000, including Interlaced CIF resolution and data sharing from an external laptop as well as the ability to send remote video (HD DualStream). The system also includes automatic web-based management and upgrades; but does not feature the embedded MCU and integrated unicast streaming capabilities of the higher end model, and has data rates up to 1Mbps. The HD3000 LT complements VCONs videoconferencing server solutions for large organizations, which includes the Media Xchange Manager® (MXM), a robust gatekeeper, management console and video PBX; the VCB, VCONs all-in-one multipoint videoconferencing unit and streaming server; the SecureConnect family of NAT and firewall traversal products; and vPoint HD, a software-only videoconferencing client for the desktop. Future software upgrades and feature enhancements for HD3000 LT are included free of charge. In its next software release, the HD3000 LT will add support for a host of new industry standards, including H.264. The HD3000 LT is available and shipping today. |
