VCON Integration with Logitech ViewPort AV 100 Delivers Business-Quality Desktop Videoconferencing Solution

VCON makes Desktop Videoconferencing easy with the integration of vPoint HD and Logitech's ViewPort T AV 100

February 24, 2005 (Austin, TX) - VCON ( Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540 ), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, announces the integration of its industry-leading vPoint HD software-only desktop videoconferencing client and its MCU product family with the Logitech® ViewPort AV 100 web camera.

The integration brings easy-to-use, high-quality video communications to the workplace PC. The innovative design of the ViewPort AV 100, which combines a video camera, integrated microphone, and a Bluetooth® wireless headset into a single, sleek console, is ideally suited to the enhanced audio, video and encryption capabilities of VCON's vPoint HD, the most advanced videoconferencing software on the market .

" It's great to see an affordable business class webcam with the level of quality and sophistication that ViewPort AV 100 presents," said Andreas Wienold, vice president, global sales and marketing, VCON. "The Logitech ViewPort AV 100 is clearly a great complement to our vPoint HD personal desktop video conferencing software and combined with VCON's Video PBX (Media Xchange Manager), this integrated solution provides a unique platform for widespread desktop videoconferencing."

The ViewPort AV 100 camera is capable of transmitting high-quality video up to 30 frames per second - ideally suited to VCON's new vPoint HD, which includes enhanced audio, video and encryption capabilities. Video enhancements in vPoint HD include support for the H.239 standard, which allows users to share data and presentations in parallel with video. The new vPoint HD also supports H.263+/++ (including XGA resolution) and features H.350 support, which offers uniformity and easier access to endpoints and end-users in a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) environment .

"Video conferencing has been around for years in the boardroom, but the technology had not reached a point where price, quality and ease of use made it viable for widespread use at the desktop," said Gina Clark, director of Logitech's Video Business Unit. "The integration of Logitech's ViewPort AV 100 camera with VCON's videoconferencing solutions addresses the growing need that the corporate market has for high-quality, versatile hardware at a very compelling price."

The ViewPort AV 100 is Logitech's first product designed to bring video communications to the workplace desktop. The camera is USB based and combines a premium Logitech video camera, an integrated microphone with acoustic echo cancellation, and a Bluetooth ® wireless headset into a single, sleek console. The Logitech ViewPort AV 100 also features a 51-degree field of view - wider than most consumer webcams - allowing the caller to sit comfortably at a desk while making a video call, as automatic face tracking and zooming keep the subject framed.
