The latest ITU-T standards added to VCON's HD Development Kit
March 1, 2005 (Austin, TX) - VCON ( Euronext- Nouveau Marché -ISIN CODE: IL 00 108 30540 ), a worldwide leader in audio and videoconferencing solutions, today announces several enhancements to the most advanced videoconferencing software development kit on the market, VCON's HD Development Kit (HDDK). The HDDK is a flexible, versatile developer's kit that allows videoconferencing integrators to create custom applications for both desktop IP video deployments and group IP video deployments. With the HDDK, developers can create unique interfaces that some types of applications demand, such as banking kiosks, telemedicine, or airport videoconferencing stations. In HDDK v6.5, features were added that make it even easier for developers to create standards-based applications that will work in any environment. With its new functionality, the HDDK provides the most powerful development environment available on the market today for conferencing application developers. This upgrade is available to current HDDK developers at no charge. "VCON's customers and partners have created some fascinating and unique applications using our development kits in the past decade," said Andreas Wienold, vice president, global sales & marketing, VCON. "The HDDK gives developers more freedom and tools than ever before, bringing a whole new level of quality and performance to the videoconferencing software they design." For desktop applications, HDDK version 6.5 audio enhancements include support for G.722.1 and G.729 standards, which allow for the highest-quality speech available at the lowest bit rates. Video enhancements include support for the H.239 standard, which allows users to share data and presentations in parallel with video. Version 6.5 also supports H.263+/++ (including XGA resolution), completing the full range of video standards and resolutions for video showing both people and data. Encryption enhancements include support for H.235, which allows for secure, encrypted videoconferencing over any network . Additionally, VCON's vPoint HD features H.350 support, which offers uniformity and easier access to endpoints and end-users in a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) environment . For group application development, enhancements also include H.264 video support up to 4Mbps, 20Khz audio (AAC-LC), Interlaced CIF and H.263++ video resolution (up to 60 fields per second). Additionally, the HDDK gives developers the ability to lock the PC to limit access to registry files.
Version 6.5 the HDDK will be available for download in Q1 2005 at www.vcon.com. |
