Problem Description:
Getting "Grayed out" remote video during a videoconference through
a Linksys Cable/DSL gateway. |
| |
|
Resolution:
You must configure the router to allow the video traffic on both the
ingress and egress. Configure the router as follows:
- Log into the router as the Administrator, by default no user name
and the password is admin.
- Click on the Advanced tab on the upper right of the window.
- Click on the Forwarding tab, under the Service Port Range enter 5004
~ 6004, under Protocol select both, and enter the IP address of the
machine to receive video, click apply.
- Click the Port Triggering radio button, enter an Application name,
under the Trigger Port Range and Incoming Port Range enter 1024 ~ 65535,
click apply.
In some instances you may need to enable the NAT feature in the Meeting
Point software.
- Within Meeting Point go to Video, Properties, Communication, click
Advanced, select the check box for NAT and type the external or route(able)
IP address.
- This IP address can be found in the router setup under Status, WAN
IP address
