Setting up a Local Software Upgrade Server for the HD2000 or HD3000
|
| |
| Emblaze-VCON Product: |
HD3000 |
| Non-Emblaze-VCON Product: |
|
|
| |
Problem Description:
The HD2000 and HD3000 have an automatic software upgrade option. Rather than have these systems check a Emblaze-VCON site for version updates, I would like to first certify the new version. How do I setup a local upgrade server and configure the HD system to check for a new version only on that server? |

Resolution:
Perform the following procedure to setup a local Upgrade Server (written as a HD3000 example):
- You will need a PC running Microsoft FTP server
- Configure the FTP account to be used for the upgrade (assuming you selected User: HD3000User, Password: HD3000Password) for read-only rights.
- When Emblaze-VCON announces a new software release for the HD3000, download the new version files from Emblaze-VCON. You should download ALL the files into your local FTP server account.
- Configure the HD3000 to refer to your local FTP server by one of the following methods:
- (4A.) User Interface: navigate into the Menu-->Version-->Upgrade dialog and change the FTP server URL, username and password fields according to your local FTP server settings.
- (4B.) Use the MXM administrator console to set the upgrade information for all your HD3000 systems at the same time: select all the HD3000 systems, open the MXM Version-->Upgrade dialog and change the FTP server parameters to those selected for your local FTP server.
