Restricting User Access to the IPNexus Server

VCON Product: IPNexus
Non-VCON Product:

Problem Description:
Since IPNexus does not have a method of authenticating individual users that try to access the server, are there other ways to restrict access to the server?

Resolution:

The first method of restricting access could be to place the IPNexus server on the private network where only internal employees can access the server. If this is not sufficient, or possible, then the Port Code ID can be used to further restrict access.

IPNexus uses Port 3540 for communication between the client and the server. This port is configured in both the client (Properties page) and the server (from the MXM / System Servers / IPNexus section). By changing the default port and only communicating this information to the community of users that are intended for IPNexus usage, further protection and restricted use can be achieved.
