Audio Cuts When Using USB Mics |
| Problem Description: When using vPoint HD with a USB mic (versus a soundcard-connected mic) there are periodic cuts to the audio. |
Resolution: This occurs due to the fact that the USB driver in the PC is 'struggling' under the load of processing the realtime audio encoding. It won't typically happen on machines faster than 1.2GHz or so and it won't typically happen while using a soundcard-connected mic. Run the attached registry patch which adjusts the playback latency to see if there is improvement. Note that only vPoint HD (starts at version 6.0) has support for USB-connected audio input and output. If vPoint 5.1 or earlier is used, then only the soundcard should be used for audio devices. |
